Arredondo Knocks Out Hernandez in the 4th
Rene Arredondo of Mexico upset the World Boxing Council’s No. 2-ranked contender, Hugo Hernandez of Argentina, when he scored a fourth-round knockout Thursday night in the featured bout at the Sports Arena.
Arrendondo, 139 3/4, the WBC’s No. 3-ranked contender, floored Hernandez, 140, at 1:51 into the round. The victory improved Arredondo’s record to 35-1. He has 31 knockouts.
Hernandez, who had 26 knockouts coming into the fight, saw his record fall to 37-1-2.
