Justice and the E.F. Hutton Case

Under this form of new “justice,” what if I go into a bank with a paper bag, my hand inside with a finger prominent in the end and point it at a clerk, and he hands me $5,000 and I run out of the bank with the loot but get caught, but give myself up to the officer and return the $5,000?
All should then be forgiven, right, Mr. Trott? We don’t want to go through the expense of a trial, prison care, lawyers, etc.--they are very expensive.
Or does it only work if the clerk hands me $1 million?
