Ho, Hum--Clouds, Then Sun for Weekend

Share

More of the same typical late spring weather is on tap for the weekend, with coastal clouds in the mornings giving way to generally fair skies and moderate temperatures in the afternoons, the National Weather Service predicted Thursday.

A weak low-pressure area off Northern California promises to deepen the usual marine layer in the Southland, and that means clouds--at least during the morning hours--for most of the Los Angeles Basin.

Although the low and the marine layer did produce a bit of drizzle around the area Thursday--none of it measurable--the general outlook for the weekend is for dry conditions and highs in the mid to upper 70s with lows in the high 50s.

The mountain communities around the basin will have some clouds, highs in the mid-60s and lows in the high 40s, while the nearby desert areas, under occasional clouds, will see highs near 90 and lows in the 50s.

The coast will experience the same cloudy mornings and clearing in the afternoons, with highs near 70 and lows around 60, while the surf will average 2 to 3 feet.

For weekend travelers, the San Francisco Bay Area should see generally cloudy weather, with some drizzle near the coast and highs of about 70 with lows in the low 50s.
