Supercomputer Center Slated at UC San Diego

GA Technologies Inc. of San Diego has selected the architecture firm Mosher/Drew/Watson/Ferguson, also San Diego, to design the San Diego Supercomputer Center on the campus of UC San Diego. Designed to give computational resources to academic and nonprofit research institutions, it will be operated by GA Technologies under a contract with the National Science Foundation.

The 58,000-square-foot building will be constructed by M. H. Golden Co., San Diego, for a cost of $7.5 million, beginning this month with completion scheduled for mid-November. A subsequent tower for offices, conference rooms and other support functions will be completed in mid-1986.
