Lee Remick and Bruce Dern will play husband and wife in “Toughlove,” a TV movie that will be broadcast on ABC next season. They play parents who, faced with a rebellious teen-age son, turn to the Toughlove organization for help. The group counsels parents in taking a firm stand with children.

Now the professional wrestling craze is coming to daytime soap operas. Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper are scheduled to appear on NBC’s “Search for Tomorrow” June 17, 18, 24, 25 and 26. They will play themselves, in town to promote a wrestling show.

Walter Cronkite will anchor “Terrorism: War in the Shadows,” an hourlong documentary that CBS plans to air June 19. Among those interviewed for the program are FBI Director William Webster, Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger and Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres.

Kristy McNichol will star in “Love, Mary,” a TV movie for CBS. She’ll age from 18 to 35 as a woman who overcomes her illiteracy to become a doctor.

Nostalgia: NBC has three reunion movies scheduled for next season--”The Return of Perry Mason,” with Raymond Burr; “Return to Mayberry,” with Andy Griffith, Ron Howard, Don Knotts and Jim Nabors; and “I Dream of Jeannie: 15 Years Later,” with Barbara Eden, Bill Daily and Hayden Rourke--but not Larry Hagman of “Dallas.” His role will be played by Wayne Rogers.

“Reading Rainbow,” the summer series that encourages children to keep reading even though school is out, has received funding to produce another five episodes for this year. They are due to be telecast this summer along with repeats of the previous 20. The grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, B. Dalton Bookseller and PBS stations also calls for five additional installments for 1986.

Briefly noted: Carol Burnett will star in a comedy special for ABC next season. . . . Mary Frann of “Newhart” and Bruce Jenner will host the “America’s Junior Miss” pageant for CBS, due to air June 21 from Mobile, Ala. . . . ABC has expanded its Civil War miniseries, “North and South,” to 12 hours and is developing John Jakes’ follow-up novel, “Love and War,” as a possible sequel.

An eight-part dramatization of Charles Dickens’ “Bleak House” will be shown on public television’s “Masterpiece Theatre” next season. The British production stars Diana Rigg and Denholm Elliott.
