The husband of an elderly woman was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder after the woman’s partly clad body was found on on a Sierra Madre street. Betty F. Johnson, 67, had been shot to death. Vernon Vilray Johnson, 65, was arrested. The motive for the slaying remains under investigation, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
