Water System Dedicated: A new irrigation system, officially dedicated Friday, will provide reclaimed waste water to bulk users in parts of southern Orange County for about 80% of the cost of fresh water. The $7.2-million Laguna Beach facility, in operation since March, can supply more than 350 million gallons of reclaimed water per year for irrigation of golf courses, playing fields and greenbelts within the areas served by the South Coast County Water District. Linda Jones, assistant general manager of the district which has about 5,000 customers in South Laguna and portions of Laguna Niguel and Dana Point, said that while reclaimed waste water poses no health hazard when used for irrigation, it is not sold to individual households.
