Bell
Bell High School is one of five high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District to receive a cash award of $1,000 from the Northrop Corp. for showing the greatest improvement in mathematics scores on statewide achievement tests this year.
Bell’s math scores improved 3.7% between the 1983-84 and 1984-85 school years, district statistics show. The greatest improvement in math scores--6%--took place at Verdugo Hills High School. Districtwide, math scores showed a 1% gain.
