Nakajima Fires a 72 for Three-Stroke Win
Japan’s Tsuneyuki Nakajima fired a one-under-par 72 Sunday for a three-stroke victory in the $160,000 Yomiuri Sapporo Beer Open Golf Tournament.
Nakajima birdied the first two holes and then picked up two more birdies on the 7,104-yard, par-73 layout of the Yomiuri Country Club. He finished with a four-round total of 275, 17-under-par. Nakajima earned $28,800.
Katsuji Hasegawa of Japan, who shared the third-round lead with Nakajima, shot a 75 for 278, 14-under-par, and finished second.
Taiwan’s Chen Tze-min shared third place with Toru Nakamura and Isao Isozaki, both of Japan, at 279. Chen shot a 70, Nakamura a 73 and Isozaki a 71 Sunday.
David Ishii of the United States tied for 11th at 283.
