Iraq Severs Ties With Libya

BAGHDAD, Iraq —
Iraq today recalled its diplomatic mission from Libya and broke relations with Col. Moammar Kadafi’s regime to protest Libya’s alliance with Iran in the 57-month-old Persian Gulf War.
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry issued a terse statement today saying Iraq is recalling its diplomatic mission from Tripoli, and has told Libyan diplomats in Baghdad to “leave Iraqi territory.”
