Rio Hondo Newspaper Honored for Excellence

El Paisano, the Rio Hondo College newspaper, has received the Pacific Coast Press Club’s 1985 Miles Sines Memorial Award for community college newspaper excellence. The newspaper also won the award in 1983. In another competition, El Paisano was named a first-class newspaper by the Associated Collegiate Press for the fall of 1984.
Its editor, Sandra Lunt, recently won a $500 scholarship from the Los Angeles professional chapter of Women in Communications Inc.
