$6 Placards

Share

Beginning July 1, the California Department of Motor Vehicles decided that disabled persons will be issued placards costing $6. According to DMV Director George Meese, this is being done to improve identification for eligible persons.

What troubles this writer is that the state is really imposing another tax, compounding a disabled person’s already horrendous medical costs.

Wasn’t it the same DMV that wanted us to make appointments for our drivers’ licenses and registrations and then found it just didn’t work and California taxpayers lost $30 million?
