Funeral services were conducted Saturday for Frank Selke Sr., former general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens.

Mourners gathered at Ste-Madeleine-de-Rigaud Church, in nearby Rigaud, to pay their last respects to a key builder of the Canadiens’ hockey dynasty.

Selke, who died at his home Wednesday, managed the Canadiens to five straight Stanley Cups between 1955 and 1960, still a record. He was also associated with three Stanley Cup victories for the Maple Leafs.

Selke retired as managing director of the Canadiens after the 1963-64 season, having run the team for 18 years.
