Marine Pilot Bails Out, Is Rescued
A Marine pilot on a routine training mission Tuesday ejected from his A-4 Skyhawk over the ocean about 35 miles south of San Clemente Island, Marine Corps officials said.
Capt. Michael Graves, 30, was picked up and airlifted by helicopter to the Naval Hospital in San Diego after the 2:15 p.m. incident, according to Sgt. Vicky Conkal. His condition was unknown.
Graves, a Corona resident stationed at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, is a member of Marine Attack Squadron 211. The flight incident is under investigation.
