Celebration

This is in appreciation of the wonderful letter (July 2) written by Rebecca Schulman about the callousness of the Reagan Administration to spend $350,000 for a celebration of the founding of Medicare and Medicaid 20 years ago when the Administration has cut both of these plans so much that people are being sent home too soon after surgery and not cared for properly before any sort of treatment.

I have written to the President, two senators and one congressman to ask their help in stopping this utter nonsense. Evidently they have so much money in Washington that they can’t think of enough ways to spend it other than something so stupid as this.
