Anaheim : Police Say Mother Killed Daughter, Then Herself
A mother attacked her two daughters with a knife Sunday, killing one of them, and then fatally stabbed herself, police said.
Dalene Ozeki, 38, died at 2:35 p.m. at UCI Medical Center, 5 1/2 hours after the attacks occurred at the family’s home in the 2800 block of East Dutch Avenue, according to Police Lt. Roger Baker.
Baker said officers arrived at the residence in the eastern part of the city shortly after 9 a.m. in response to a call about an attempted suicide. They found the body of 12-year-old Kelli, as well as the wounded second daughter, Alison, 15, and the mother.
All three had suffered stab wounds in the upper part of the body, according to Baker. Alison was treated at UCI Medical Center and released into the care of other family members, while the mother was initially taken to Anaheim Memorial Hospital in critical condition before being transferred to the medical center in Orange.
Police said Sunday afternoon that no motive for the stabbings had been established and they were continuing their investigation of the two deaths.
