A 66-year-old dormitory on the University of La Verne campus will not be razed to make room for a lawn as previously announced, but will instead be renovated and used for classrooms and offices, administrators say.

The fate of Miller Hall has been a matter of contention since September, when preservationists objected to a plan to remove the building. University officials, blaming lack of funds, were granted permission by the city to tear it down two months ago.
