Whittier

Construction of a new wing has forced the Whittier Museum to close for July. A new local history room is being added to the museum’s first floor. Officials said the museum will reopen Aug. 3 with an exhibit of soft sculpture and collages by Whittier-area artist Joan Beck. When construction is completed, the museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and by appointment Monday through Friday.
