Israel will release about 100 more Lebanese prisoners from Atlit military prison in northern Israel on Wednesday, the military command announced today.

The 100 detainees are among an estimated 435 Lebanese, mostly Shia Muslims, who were captured in south Lebanon and transferred to Israel as Israeli troops pulled out of Lebanon. More than 1,200 were detained originally, and their release was demanded by the Shia hijackers of a TWA jetliner in June. The last release of the Atlit prisoners was on July 3, three days after the TWA hijacking ended.
