Robert Hoffman, Founder of Barbell Firm, Dies at 86

YORK, Pa. —
Robert C. Hoffman, founder of York Barbell Corp., the nation’s leading maker of Olympic-style weightlifting equipment, died Thursday at York Hospital.
He was 86.
Hoffman coached U.S. Olympic weightlifting teams from 1948 to 1956.
