Thatcher Travels to Washington

LONDON —
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher traveled today to Washington for an evening address to the International Democrat Union, a conservative political organization holding its second international conference. Her schedule also included meetings Friday with senior U.S. officials including Vice President George Bush and Defense Secretary Caspar W. Weinberger. A spokesman said he knew of no plans for a meeting with President Reagan, who is recuperating from cancer surgery.
