Troubled pitcher Pascual Perez, missing from the Atlanta Braves for five days, will rejoin the team next Tuesday under an agreement worked out Thursday.

Perez, who disappeared Sunday from New York’s Shea Stadium after his 15-10 loss to the Mets, met for 90 minutes with General Manager John Mullen.

Perez (1-8 with a 6.52 earned-run average) asked for time “to collect his thoughts and prepare himself mentally,” a team spokesman said. “He said he will apologize to his teammates for leaving the club, and he wishes to redeem himself to teammates and Brave fans.”

Perez, who earns a reported $450,000 annually, is losing about $2,800 in salary for every game he misses.

“I don’t feel good,” he said in an interview published Thursday in the Atlanta Constitution. “I need time. I might not play baseball for a long, long time.”
