Foresters Fight Fire With Fire

Foresters from Georgia-Pacific Corp. are fighting fire with fire--literally.

The forest products firm is using “prescribed burning” to reduce the risk of future wildfires in Southern coastal pinelands. By deliberately burning underbrush and other “competitive vegetation,” the foresters reduce the amount of fuel that would be available if a real wildfire broke out.
