Bakersfield Hospital Adds Structures

Construction has started on a $35-million expansion and remodeling of Greater Bakersfield Memorial Hospital at 420 34th St. in Bakersfield.

The major design concept, with two distinctive structures as part of the plan, is by the architectural team of Langdon Wilson Mumper Architects, Los Angeles, in association with Millard Archuleta/Eddy Paynter Associates, Bakersfield. General contractor is Bernards Bros. Inc. of San Fernando for the portion presently under construction.

Financing for the project will consist of Hospital Revenue Bonds through the city of Bakersfield, backed by a surety bond with Industrial Indemnity and letter of credit with the California Savings & Loan Assn.
