The City Council approved final drawings for Group W Cable and city cable studios at the civic center and voted unanimously to name the building after City Atty. Stanley Remelmeyer.

Mayor Jim Armstrong noted Remelmeyer’s longtime work in the field of telecommunications law and said the 67-year-old attorney is respected nationwide.

“I’m overwhelmed,” Remelmeyer said. “I’m deeply honored.”

The two-story building will contain 16,267 square feet and house studios for both the city and Group W, including facilities for public access and programming produced by Group W.
