The Diabetes Treatment Center at Doctors Hospital of Lakewood is offering its second clinic Aug. 9 on amputations and circulatory problems caused by diabetes. The first clinic was in June. Dr. Michael Perley, medical director at the center, and Dr. Herbert Gulac, a specialist in physical medicine, will evaluate patients who have had amputations or who may be at risk due to circulatory problems associated with the disease. The clinic, which will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5300 N. Clark Ave., will include free blood-sugar screenings, evaluations of prostheses and amputation sites and recommendations and referrals if necessary.
