Former Georgia Gov. Lester G. Maddox said serum that he was given by a cancer clinic tested positive for AIDS virus and hepatitis, and his blood will be tested to determine whether he has either disease. The serum came from the Immunology Researching Center in Freeport, Bahamas, where Maddox, 69, underwent treatment for cancer several years ago. The clinic was shut down recently by the Bahamian government after its serum was found to contain the virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
