A 42-year-old Lothario who admitted stealing more than $210,000 from his eighth wife was sentenced to three years in prison by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dion G. Morrow. Conrad Eugene Grohs Jr., a self-described Kenny Rogers look-alike, had pleaded guilty in June to a charge of grand theft. Grohs, known to his latest wife as Dr. Andrew J. Afar, met the 47-year-old North Hollywood woman last fall after she placed an advertisement in a singles’ magazine. By December, the woman had discovered that Grohs had looted her bank accounts. She made him move, filed for annulment and called police. When he was arrested in Newport Beach two months ago, Grohs was living on a boat with another woman.
