Former Democratic vice presidential candidate Geraldine A. Ferraro said Friday that she is “seriously” considering a bid for the Senate in 1986.

Ferraro, speaking at a packed press luncheon, did not mention any plans for running for President but said: “The next woman who runs will be ready . . . . She’ll run in the primaries. She won’t walk into it unprepared like I did.”

The former New York congresswoman was in Japan with her husband, John A. Zaccaro, on the last leg of a trip through Asia.
