Jack (Hacksaw) Reynolds, who recently retired after 15 NFL seasons as an active player, said in Rocklin, Calif., he would not continue as an assistant coach with the San Francisco 49ers.
The two-time Pro Bowl linebacker who played 11 years with the Rams said he was leaving the club and would not accept another pro football job “unless a special situation similar to what I had here in San Francisco would arise.”
Reynolds, 37, said his decision was due to “the pressing need to respond to a number of offers, most of which are outside of football . . . endorsements, advertising and other offers,” including one to write a book.
