The USFL Players Assn. filed suit against the San Antonio Gunslingers seeking to force payment on two overdue paychecks owned the team’s former players.

Attorney Arthur Vega said he filed suit in San Antonio state district court against South Texas Sports, Inc., parent company of the USFL franchise.

Vega said the team’s 46 players, all waived by the team July 22, are owed around $550,000 in back pay.
