County : Democratic Committee Hires Executive Director
Unable to hire a full-time staff member since the 1984 elections, the Orange County Democratic Central Committee has named former congressional aide Linda Godinez Miller executive director and, in an unusual action, has guaranteed her $2,000 monthly salary through private sponsors.
Miller, 30, was a member of former Rep. Jerry Patterson’s staff from 1974 until the Santa Ana Democrat was defeated by Republican Robert K. Dornan last year. She currently works as an interviewer in the civil enforcement section of the district attorney’s family support prosecution unit.
County Democratic Chairman Bruce Sumner said Miller is expected to help organize a voter registration effort to counter recent GOP gains in the county.
