Gov. Wallace’s Back Pain Aided by Surgery

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. —
Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace, who will be released from the hospital today, has had a major reduction in his back pain since surgery more than two weeks ago, his physician said Friday.
The Alabama governor will be discharged from Craig Rehabilitation Hospital about noon and will return to Montgomery, Ala. He underwent surgery to relieve the pain he has experienced as a result of wounds suffered in an assassination attempt.
