Crash Deaths Case
I’d like to thank Don Oliver for the concern he showed in his letter (July 28) regarding the story “Judge Orders Driver Tried for Murder in 4 Crash Deaths.” It was my wife and children who were killed in that accident.
After reading the article in The Times, I can understand Oliver’s concern. Judge David Bach handled the case in a very fair and admirable way. However, we do need better reporting.
The Times reported that Judge Bach said “I have sympathy for Mr. Reding.” The judge did say that, but he said more. He added “I have sympathy for Mr. Reding but very little. Most of my sympathy goes out to the family of the victims.”
