Share

A Santa Ana police officer escaped injury when two shots were allegedly fired at him in the 2000 block of West 1st Street.

Officer Mike Buelna was patrolling at 10:37 p.m. Saturday when he saw a youth firing a .22-caliber rifle at a car containing three other youths, Lt. Jack Nelson said. When Buelna ordered the youth to put down his rifle and surrender, he fired two shots at Buelna, Nelson said.

Both shots missed, and the young man continued firing at the other youths. No one was hit, Nelson said, but police later found eight bullet holes in the car.
