A 19-year-old Carlsbad woman was killed and two other people were injured Sunday when a pickup truck went off the the road and overturned, the coroner’s office reported. Amelia Pantoja, a passenger in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:30 a.m. The driver, Mario M. Sandoval, 24; a second passenger, Theresa Verdugo, 19, and Pantoja were ejected from the truck when it went down an embankment and overturned on Via de Las Flores, deputies said. Verdugo and Sandoval were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital where they were reported in good condition.
