Hayden Calls for Bay Cleanup Funds
Assemblyman Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica), in a letter to the state’s Congressional delegation, has asked that Santa Monica Bay be placed on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund list, qualifying it as a top-priority site for hazardous waste cleanup.
Hayden, chairman of a state task force investigating bay pollution, said Monday that Santa Monica Bay contamination levels are among the highest in the nation for waterways of any kind.
