Local News in Brief : Thousand Oaks Girl Dies After Car Tumbles
A 17-year-old Thousand Oaks girl was killed Monday when her car tumbled down an embankment on Westlake Boulevard, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said.
Lisa Diane Cavicchi was airlifted to Westlake Hospital, where she died at 5:30 p.m., Lt. Joe Harwell said. A passenger, Alice Marie Vanderealk of Thousand Oaks, escaped with minor injuries, he said.
Cavicchi was driving north on Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks at 2:05 p.m. when her car veered into a dirt shoulder, overturned, and tumbled 10 feet down the embankment, Harwell said.
The accident is under investigation, Harwell said.
