Norman C. Roberts, manager of Morgan, Olmstead, Kennedy & Gardner Inc. in San Diego, has been appointed a public interest director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
He is replacing Annelise Anderson, a senior research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, who resigned in March.
Roberts, a longtime conservationist, was designated three years ago as chairman of the Interior Department’s Fish and Wild Life Commission, but his appointment fell through after a disagreement with then-Interior Secretary James G. Watt over several environmental issues.
Roberts is unlikely to make the next FHLBB meeting Aug. 23--he said Tuesday that he is leaving for a two-week bird-watching trip to Africa.
