Ground will be broken today at 11 a.m. for the $4-million Centinela Hospital Airport Medical Clinic at 9601 S. Sepulveda Blvd. Slated for completion in September, 1986, the clinic will provide emergency and general medical services for travelers and employees at Los Angeles International Airport and for people and businesses in Inglewood, Westchester, Playa del Rey, El Segundo and Manhattan Beach.
Inglewood-based Centinela Hospital was awarded a contract to provide medical services for the airport by the Board of Airport Commissioners in May, 1984. Two months later, the hospital opened a first-aid station at the airport to deal with Olympic Games visitors.
