El Toro : Jet Flight Periods to Be Extended at Marine Base
- Share via
Airfield operations will be extended at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in the next four days as a large number of pilots return home from various assignments while others fulfill training requirements.
The new hours begin today at 5 a.m., followed by 1 to 2 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. to midnight sessions Friday; from midnight to 1:30 a.m. Saturday, and 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Sgt. Vicki Conkel said some increase in the hours is normal at this time of the year. “Due to daylight saving time, the hours need to be extended so pilots can meet their minimum night-flying requirements,” she said.
Normal hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
