Teradyne Laying Off 30 Workers; Sales Lagging

Citing weak sales, Teradyne Inc. said Wednesday it will lay off 30 of the 650 workers at its semiconductor test division in Woodland Hills and Agoura.

Workers were notified Wednesday that the layoffs will take effect Friday, a spokeswoman said, adding that the cutbacks will be limited to non-production workers, including engineering, marketing and administrative employees.

The Boston-based maker of testing systems for computer components said it is also laying off 110 workers from its Boston operations.
