A record 21.4 million fans attended Division I basketball games last season, and attendance at all college basketball games increased to a record 32,056,673, the NCAA said.
The Big Ten led all conferences in attendance and set a record with 1,911,325. Syracuse led all Division I schools by averaging 25,870 fans a game at the Carrier Dome for a total of 388,049.
The season represented the first time that seven conferences each drew more than 1 million fans. The others were the Southeastern, Big Eight, Big East, Atlantic Coast, Western Athletic and Metropolitan Collegiate Athletic Conference.
