Dodger Fans Receive Their Money’s Worth, and So Does the Team

Share

The article on Dodger finances was interesting but not that surprising. The Dodgers should make money since they own or control all means of production: a great farm system, concessions and parking, and the greatest gift of all time--Chavez Ravine.

Yet, they field a contending team every year, provide a clean and safe atmosphere in which to watch the game and have among the lowest ticket prices in the major leagues.

The Dodger organization, which is recognized as one of the better-managed organizations in all of sports, prides itself on being family. This is definitely reflected by the salaries and benefits that are paid to the players, management and the owners. I find nothing wrong with this since we, the fans, benefit by the best entertainment in town at the lowest possible price.
