Forgive Fuentes, Democrat Urges

I urge my fellow Democrats to forgive Orange County Republican Chairman Thomas Fuentes, who knoweth not what he sayeth, in his statement in a recent L.A. Times article: “I simply cannot fathom how even well-intentioned Democrats can remain naive about the evils their party has wrought across the great American political landscape. . . . It’s a little like good Germans denying the existence of the Holocaust.”

It would appear that either Fuentes has a very selective memory or a lack of formal training in history.

Does he recall the evils of Herbert Hoover, when workers stood in bread lines and investors committed suicide? Does he remember the evils of Richard Nixon that led to his resignation? Does he remember the evil of Ronald Reagan; thousands of people slipping below the poverty line, the number of homeless increasing and the country falling behind 16 other industrialized nations in infant mortality?
