Coney Island Swimmers Flee ‘Frenzied’ Shark

NEW YORK —
Authorities evacuated bathers from the water off Coney Island on Saturday when an injured shark approached the beach in a frenzy, “biting everything in sight,” officials said.
No one was bitten by the eight-foot shark, which thrashed around in the water chomping driftwood, the Coast Guard said. The area was reopened two hours later.
