In Quest of Lovable City

As a native Angeleno who remembers a more beautiful, if less exciting city, I want to express my appreciation for the Sam Hall Kaplan column of July 28, less for what it has to say about Mr. Hamilton than for the issue of planning itself. “It should be required reading . . .” for everyone, down to the small-scale builder who can be convinced that beauty pays as well as provides us with a more lovable city.
