Jeannie Longo of France won the overall title as the women’s racing in the 16-day Coors International Bicycle Classic in Colorado ended. She won five stages, but failed to win Sunday’s final stage, the North Boulder Park Circuit, because she broke a spoke in the middle of the race and had to replace her wheel.
Greg Lemond, racing in the United States for the first time since 1981, beat Andrew Hampsten, Boulder Colo., by 1:51 for the overall men’s title.
Lemond, 24, of Reno, Nev., has competed for French pro teams the past four years, winning the world championship and finishing second and third in the Tour de France.
