Actress Olivia Hussey and her husband--following the telephoned instructions of a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy--applied resuscitation techniques that saved the life of their 2 1/2-year-old son, who had fallen into the swimming pool at their home in Malibu, investigators said. “My baby is drowning!” the actress screamed in a call recorded on the 911 emergency line. Deputy Timothy Edwards, who fielded the call, told her to stay calm, clear the baby’s airway and bend his head backward--instructions which Hussey relayed to her husband, Akira Fuse, who performed the maneuvers. “He’s started to breathe,” the relieved actress said moments later. The child, Max Fuse, was later reported in “excellent” condition.
