Bigger, Better, Bingo: The shout "bingo!" soon will be heard in Brea earlier in the evening and for higher stakes. City Council members last week agreed to move the starting time of bingo games from 7 to 5:30 p.m. City law allows bingo one night a week with a cutoff time of 11 p.m. Additionally, the council members raised the maximum prize money from $1,500 to $5,000 per night, Assistant City Manager Denise Ovrom said. City officials amended their ordinance at the request of the Brea Booster Foundation, which raises money for extracurricular activities at Brea-Olinda High School.
